FIS is a community that brings people together through shared activities, events, products and services to create conditions for our contractor and supplier members to improve performance and win work. Our mission is to set members up for success.
Together we are stronger – growing your community
FIS works to raise standards and is built on common principles and specialist services all tailoured towards the specialist interior, fit-out and finishes sector. The community is growing and with every new member the FIS grows in strength, both from the perspective of resource, but also the strength of our voice and understanding of the sector. As a member, we hope you appreciate and understand membership and the benefit that businesses from our sector can derive.
You can help us today by referring businesses that you work with that you think share these values and will both meet and champion the FIS code of conduct. A referral can be a recommendation on Linkedin, a direct email, a nudge on social media posts (“have you ever thought about FIS Membership, I think you would find it useful”) or just a passing comment that FIS is worth considering. You can push membership, across, up or down the supply chain as we have categories for suppliers, contractors and associates (service and IT suppliers, training providers and start-ups who don’t yet qualify for full membership in the main).
Basically the simple message that we would like you to pass on is:
“We are members of the FIS and they help our business on many levels, but more than this they are a force for good in the sector. I would love you to join this community and support our focus on quality, safety, productivity, skills and competency that we are driving through the FIS. The attached information gives you insight into the 7 core reasons to join and complete the form so you can talk it through by one of our professional team.”
Keep us posted on anybody that you have referred by emailing info@thefis.org and we will be regularly acknowledging your support through all of our social and digital channels and have plans afoot to celebrate and reward those active ambassadors through our event programme.
Contractor
Membership provides the tools for contractors to develop their business and demonstrate their professional excellence. It also provides a forum for members to exchange views and information in order to address issues specific to the interiors sector.
Supplier
Membership provides the perfect platform for manufacturers and distributors to interact with and support their customer base. It also provides access to a range of working groups which pull together sector stakeholders to address industry issues.
Associate
Associate membership provides the opportunity for newly incorporated companies who don’t yet meet the critia for accredidate membership to benefit from joining FIS. And service providers to expand and interact with the industry.
NOTE ABOUT MEMBERSHIP
FIS membership is not automatic, full membership is subject to strict vetting procedures and open to contractors and suppliers involved in commercial interior fit-out and building finishes. Most members are UK-based, but companies based outside the UK may also apply. There are two categories of Associate membership:
KickStart – KickStart members are often newly incorporated companies, joining as a KickStart member allows us to support you through the vetting process over your first 12 months.
Service Provider – Service Provider members provide services specifically tailored to the construction industry and in particular the finishes and interiors sector.
