Am I eligible to view the British Standards FOC?

For the purposes of viewing the British Standards free of charge an SME is defined as any FIS contractor member that has fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than €50 million (£43 million) or a balance sheet total less than €43 million (£37 million).

I have logged in as a member but can’t view standards?

Documents can only be viewed by SME’s which have been granted access (one user per company).   To apply, complete the registration form here (FIS will review the request for access and respond within 24 hours).

I don’t have an FIS membership login

If you don’t have a login to the FIS website, you can create an account here ,or email the FIS team on info@thefis.org

How do I reset my member login password?

What is the best browser to use to view the standards?

Access to the British Standards can be through any browser, however Google Chrome is recommended.

What is the best application to open the standards?

Adobe Acrobat Reader. This can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/uk/acrobat/pdf-reader.html Other PDF software may also open the files.
