Join us for our Drylining working group where we will take a tour of the Building Test Centre to look at the new fire resistance testing furnaces and robust tests, followed by a look at the Drylining Learning Academy where there is a chance to look at examples of compliant and non-compliant installations to test your knowledge.

After lunch, the meeting will be an open forum focussed on ongoing work that FIS is undertaking and a chance to raise any concerns or issues that need to be considered within this or additional activities that will support improvement and help members address issues that they are currently facing in the market.

    • Overview of the latest developments related to this legislation.
  • UKCA marking
    • Policy uncertainty and the risks of inaction.

Key Ongoing Activities:

  • An update on changes to the membership vetting process and future plans

  • Review of FIS best practice and specifiers guides, status update and key changes recommended

  • A focus on “Walls as a System” and key recommendations in new guidance developed through the working group by FIS (e.g. considering the impact of floor finishes, void upstands at door thresholds etc).

  • Planned Training for estimators and procurement (key concerns, opportunities to get involved)
    • This session will include updates and plenty of time for discussion.

    • How to increase prevalence and/or functionality of the labelling scheme?
  • Fire state deflection & partition heads
    • Is this requirement manifesting in specifications and on site, and how is this requirement being accommodated in drylined partitions?

    • A review of the previous market survey, the future need for similar data and the questions asked.
  • Junction mouseholes
    • Manufacturer’s details, specification and prevalence in standard practice.
  • 3rd Party inspections
    • An open discussion regarding notice, engagement and feedback with 3rd party inspections.
