FIS Midlands Regional Meeting

Ann will provide an overview of the regional Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) initiatives currently being delivered, highlighting key priorities, opportunities, and expected outcomes. She will also explain how these local activities align with and complement wider national DWP skills and employment programmes, including the Youth Guarantee initiative.

When recruiting a new technical trainee, Gareth made effective use of the induction support provided by FIS, ensuring the individual received the necessary training, guidance, and exposure to key processes. He will be sharing his experience which helped create a positive onboarding experience for the trainee.

Abigail will be sharing her experince of creating their own training centre, after frustratingly facing a lack of provision in the area.

Following a visit to Strasbourg, Beena will share the findings of the trainee model used and what the UK can learn from. She will also discuss the skills funding for NVQs.
