The Project
Metsec SFS load bearing is that lightweight galvanised steel sections are used to form the structural elements of the building, and provide structure to support the external finishes, internal plasterboard, floor and roof finishes. SFS load bearing consists of vertical and horizontal steel channels, supplied to site as individual components, assembled in-situ using 5.5mm diameter self-drilling/self-tapping (tek) screws. All SFS sections are cold rolled from pre-galvanised steel strip to BS EN 1090-1:2009 + A1:2011, with a minimum steel grade of S450.
