Square Gardens, Manchester
The Project
Linear Projects are proud to have completed the ceilings, partitions and plastering works on a landmark 44-storey, 644-bedroom development in the centre of Manchester. Spanning two years, the scheme has been a true team effort, bringing together their client Downing, their supply chain and project personnel to deliver a consistent, high-quality finish – including ceilings, partitions, and spray plaster – across every level of the building.
From the outset they established a rigorous quality-control process to ensure all works met the project’s strict standards. Fire safety and acoustic performance were key requirements, and each system was carefully installed and inspected to guarantee compliance and consistency throughout the development.
They also benefitted from excellent technical support from British Gypsum, Knauf and Siderise, whose systems and expertise enabled them to meet the specified performance standards across more than 20 different wall and ceiling types. Working closely with SimpsonHaugh Architects, they ensured the design intent was fully realised while maintaining efficiency and buildability at every stage.
The development is a striking addition to Manchester’s skyline, and they are delighted to have contributed to bringing it to life. Its success reflects the collaboration, skill, and dedication of everyone involved, with materials supplied by CCF and FNW.
