Platform at Central Quay, Glasgow
The Project
CCL Interiors installed all plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire beam encasement and soffit linings to this award winning Build to Rent scheme for Graham Construction. This prestigious project for the Glasgow skyline also was winner of BTR development of the year at the Scottish Property Awards.
The building is one of the tallest in Glasgow standing at 60m high, changing derelict land into 498 new homes with 4 blocks ranging from 6 to 20 storeys high.
All works undertaken to apartments, circulation areas, retail and amenities providing residents with state of the art gym, cinema room, group dining rooms, roof terraces and a landscaped courtyard.
Scope of Works
– CCL adjusted the sequence on site by installing corridors first to allow Mechanical & Electrical contractors access to install corridor and core first fix ahead of the room sequencing. This benefited the programme for all parties on site to allow works to progress in an organised manner.
– Loading issues on site and working to one hoist, CCL operations team had to work closely with the Main Contractors logistic team and other sub contractors both to accommodate loading out and removal of waste from the floor plates. In order to aid the project CCL had a back shift labourer attendance to maintain clear and safe site working conditions.
– Programme was very tight with all works to be complete within a 48week period of CCL, with operative numbers on site peaking at 80+ operatives it is a credit to the Operations team on the successful completion of the works.
