Project of the Year – Under £1 Million

Veitchi Interiors were delighted to be appointed by Morrison Construction as the Fit Out contractor for Diageo’s new state-of-the-art laboratory building in Menstrie.
The facility will be used by Diageo’s scientists to blend and test Diageo’s leading global brands, such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Gordon’s Gin and many others.
The facility was built on an area of unused land adjacent to the company’s existing technical centre which will continue to be used as offices and meeting rooms.
Veitchi Interiors have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Fit Out sector and we have completed several successful projects of a similar nature to this one.
Veitchi Interiors’ managerial expertise was therefore sought to assume responsibility of an extensive range of trades for this project, some of which included Internal Partitions, Ceilings, Internal Doors & Ironmongery, Glazed Screens, Metalwork, Plasterwork, Cubicles & IPS.
This widespread variety of trades allowed Veitchi Interiors to showcase several skills, such as effectively collaborating with other subcontractors, management and working well as a team.

Scope of Works

We faced many challenges throughout the project, such as the forming of a tight curved wall in the Sensory room as well as helping to design details for the Blind Boxes. The glass racks that were installed to the ceiling of the lab areas was also a complex installation. Our team was able to provide and execute suitable solutions for each of these challenges
Veitchi Interiors also manufactured and installed bespoke ceiling rafts for the project.
Although the project posed some challenges along the way we still delivered a high quality bespoke fit out with some unique features.
