Manchester Airport Transformation Programme

The Project

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme – Pier 1, a development to provide 11 new gates to Manchester Airport. This included the installation of bespoke ceiling systems incorporating Acoustic lining sheets with insulation, SAS international system’s 500, 205, 600, 130, 150, 330, with bespoke Sublimated Baffles and Knauf Plasterboard bulkheads.
Within the main pier departure areas SCS installed a custom modular raft which incorporated System 500 Sublimated baffles (wood grain) with system 205 tiles.  All were bespoke to the project, engineered to work with and around the Mechanical and Electrical modular service system to provide the correct acoustic absorption for the space. This worked in tandem with the acoustic lining sheet and insulation which was installed to the underside of the roof decking to provide an acoustic performance and to mitigate the impact of external noise.

Elsewhere within the Pier building SCS installed system 500 baffles to expansive areas of the project, system 600 to node links, system 130 and 150 to toilets, all to provide the correct acoustic absorption for the space and provide the correct class rating.
