Luton DART, Bedfordshire
The Project
Public Sector Infrastructure – SAS System 740 aluminum acoustic
baffles installed at a high level with bespoke perimeter metal bulkheads.
Acoustic wall panels, wall partitions and timber doors
Luton DART is a mono rain system that now links Luton airport Parkway
train station to the terminal of London Luton Airport in under 4 minutes.
The design criteria of the ceiling was concentrated around the acoustic
requirements that are required for public transport buildings, both for
safety and information. The SAS System 740 acoustic baffles achieved
a minimalist appearance, and the perimeter bulkheads were all made to
measure in a new concrete framed building.
The acoustic wall panels needed to be installed on the walls either side
of the tracks, this was to achieve the decibel rating over the public
address system, to ensure public safety announcements could be heard
clearly.
The project had a 12-month programme and Space achieved all project
milestones set out by the clients
