The Project
Project calls for an acoustic ceiling and wall system that could be shared to meet the architects requirements. BASWA Acoustic System was proposed and therefore BASWA contacted DAC as their competent installer. The primary structure was cast from GRG and supported on a metal support system by others. We had the task of achieving a seamless finish covering protruding abnormalities and blending from ceiling into wall. Plasterboard bands were fixed directly on to the GRG cast and Thistle Bonding ruled up between bands to achieve a packing zone to allow the acoustic boards to pass over the protruding abutments. Acoustic boards were serrated/sliced on the back face to allow the panels to bend into the shape required. The beads were then stuck on to the new bonded surface with BASWA fix. BASWA base was then applied by means of curved trails. There were no permanent beads used at high level due to fire restrictions, so BASWA base was applied to temporary beads then removed when base coat set. The same method was used in the ascending bay and when both base coats set, the junction was finely formed by free hand. A BASWA top coat of Fine was applied to achieve the final finish. Access panels + central band of services.
Scope of Works
• To provide a continuous flat surface to apply BASWA acoustic boards on to
• To supply and install an acoustic ceiling
