Intercontinental Hotel, London
The Project
The project was the change of use from a RC frame Car Park to a Ballroom, below the existing ballroom that remained in use for the duration of the works.
As the hotel & ballroom was in constant use for the duration of the works the logistics were challenging and the ‘noisy’ works were completed over night shifts.
Scope of Works
Rockwool soffit insulation installed to 5m soffit & acoustic beam encasements (3 layers of board) installed off MEWPS during night shifts in order that existing ballroom could be used during the day.
British Gypsum Casoline MF Soundbloc (3 layers of board) ceiling to provide sound insulation to other ballroom whilst maintaining the aesthetics of the coffer design. Multiple cut outs & additional framing to accommodate ventilation grilles, lights & access panels.
Autex acoustic panels to the soffit of each coffer to provide sound absorption
