Haymarket Square, Edinburgh
The Project
Our install comprised of linear rib profiles creating a horizontal frieze at each floor level. The scenic lifts were formed with vertical frontages of rib profiles that rose either side, with the gable ends of the lift cores capped off with black attenuating metal panels.
The main office elevations where the floor level and ceiling void occurred, provided the zone for Metsec SFS support frame, as well as providing restraint for the glazed screens. The scenic lift areas required a complex install of SFS and I stud framing to allow the profiles a secure point tie back.
Within the lift lobby areas, a mixture of Gustafs ribs and bespoke high gloss panelling was installed to our supporting background.
Additional packages included the atrium stair. The works compromised installing boarding to the inside and outside face of the stair plus the soffit. Due to the complex nature, the panels required on site templating in advance of production. This was carried out as the cladding rail system was installed in challenging conditions.
The second element of works was Acoufelt wall panels within the main floor plates. The panels selected meant that each of the rooms had its own bespoke pattern and colour.
