Everton New Stadium, Liverpool
The Project
Everton Football Club appointed Laing O’Rourke as ‘preferred contractor’ for its new 52,000 capacity stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock on Liverpool’s waterfront.
Enabling works started on the new stadium in July 2021 and the construction phase is expected to take three years, culminating in October 2024 handover.
The Stadium itself is to be designed to achieve UEFA Stadium Category 4 and Sports Ground Safety Advisor requirements. It will have a capacity of up to 52,888 seats all with uninterrupted views of the pitch.
It shall provide facilities for players, staff, home and away supporters, corporate entities, hospitality providers, the media and be fully accessible. The Stadium is to be accessible to the public on match days and for stadium tours. The Stadium will be a state-of-the-art venue that captures the vision of the EFC Board and MEIS Architects, with the capability of operating as a year-round facility for The Football Association (FA), The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), plus providing an events venue in Liverpool.
Our works have included the installation of Fermacell partitions, FST finishes and Rockfon and SAS suspended ceilings and vinyl flooring. Over 240,000m2 of Fermacell boards have been installed, with 140,000m2 of fine surface treatment applied and finished, and 10,000m2 of Rockfon suspended ceilings erected, all in a 76 week programme duration. Our project value has risen from the initial £13.9M to a projected final account of £19.5M.
