The Project

The refurbishment of any Category A-listed Victorian building is liable to be complex, logistically challenging and painstaking; however, at Edinburgh Futures sound construction methodology, a combination of products offering practicality and performance and beautiful architectural detailing has created an ambitious setting for social learning and spatial integration that will bring the multi-disciplinary institute a sense of community and cohesion.
Indeglas designed, supplied and installed a series of glazed screens offering a mix of protective barriers, acoustic screens and fire-rated glazing. As always, working alongside our key product suppliers at Deko and Independent Glass allowed us to dovetail and adapt to the requirements of Bennetts Associates’ design and Balfour Beatty’s expectation for exemplary workmanship.
The challenges of getting glass on-site and into the building matched the skill and expertise required to install into openings that often dated back to the original Victorian construction. In fact, it’s fair to say that the project provided many opportunities for the Indeglas team to demonstrate their experience of providing bespoke solutions in demanding circumstances.
Indeglas are proud to be a part of the wonderful network of skilled trades that have contributed to the transformation of one of Edinburgh’s most loved historic buildings.
