Café Lapérouse, London
The Project
Gillespie were delighted to be approached by DaeWha Kang Design to work on the stunning Café Lapérouse project for The OWO, due to our proven track record of work on high-profile 3D GRG projects in the UK and internationally.
We started with the designer’s initial 3D model, moving this to the next level by making modifications to transform it into production ready Zerodec GRG 3D surface, whilst retaining its fluidity and flair.
This involved incorporating additional curves and enhancing the overall flow of the central shape of the ceiling which resembles petals that radiate to form the skylight. We suggested adding more flutes to enhance the appearance and to create a pronounced curtain-like grouping effect, this was agreed and incorporated.
The panels were manufactured using the latest CNC technology and our advanced moulding techniques. The 5 axis CNC machines enabled off-site factory production to achieved perfect surface and tolerances allowing a flawless finish in the finished installation.
Zerodec GRG is light weight, strong and tested to international standards such as BS, EU and ASTM. The final result is an outstanding 3D GRG installation that brings elegance and a Parisian chic feel to Café Lapérouse .
