The Project
Barton Square was completed in 2007 as an open air shopping centre alongside the established Trafford Centre in Manchester. This £65M, 18 month project, was to glaze over the open courtyards & malls, create a 30m high central glazed dome and install new floor, wall & ceiling finishes. Ryedale Interiors developed the design, manufactured & installed all the GRG works that concealed the roof support steelwork and created a stunning new shopping centre. GRG cornices, column casings, large cornices & Greek key fascias and central feature domed ceiling.
Scope of Works
4000 metres of GRG cornice light trough in 170 ceiling coffers
1000 metres of GRG large cornices & Greek Key fascias in malls & courtyards
GRG works to 30m high x 18m diameter central dome feature
150 No Circular column casings with Ionic angular voluted capitals
Approx 200 different moulds, approx 8000 No GRG casts, approx 6500m2 of GRG works.
