Ayrshire Hospice

The Project

We were appointed by McLaughlin & Harvey to deliver the Internal Partitions, Fire Encasements, Suspended Ceilings, Timber Slatted Ceilings, Monolithic Acoustic Spray Ceilings, Plastering/Taping and Cavity Fire & Acoustic Barriers for the modernisation of the existing Ayrshire care facility.
This prestigious project comprised of the refurbishment of the existing buildings and the construction of the new IPU extension to complete the renovation of the care facility and its grounds.
The remodel of the existing premises created a number new of functional spaces and the revamp of many existing areas such as kitchens, staff lounges and therapy rooms. New Partitions were constructed throughout to create a new building layout which allowed these new and modified spaces to be created.
The existing building entrance was adapted to create a new open plan entrance lobby, reception and public café area which became the centre point of the Hospice. This area also provides access to the new courtyard which allows visitors and residents to enjoy the re-landscaped hospice grounds.
The addition of the IPU building provides the Hospice with 12 modern bedroom and en-suite living accommodations complete with access to a private patio with garden view. This new wing of the facility also features an open plan area with circular skylights which provide natural light to the lounge space creating a comfortable waiting space for family and patrons to relax when together.
As part of our works package, we completed the installation of the Rockfon Monolithic Acoustic Spray Ceilings throughout the IPU Lounge, reception, café and flexible spaces.
With over 600m2 to be completed and with an abundance of services present, the execution of these ceilings involved a great deal of collaboration and co-ordination with the McLaughlin & Harvey site team and accompanying trades.
