Advanced Research Centre, Glasgow
The Project
As well as providing collaboration facilities for the entire University research community, the ARC Building is home to academics working on some of the most complex and important global challenges.
The significant use of glass within the building promotes human connectivity and collaboration, breaking down organisational structures and fulfilling key drivers within the Client’s wish to construct a facility that supports the happiness and wellbeing of it’s end-users.
Working closely with Multiplex and the Design Team to ensure that the immaculately considered detailing within HOK’s architectural intent were understood and translated into a world class end-product, Indeglås designed and constructed a bespoke internal glazed atrium as well as forming a myriad of high-performance rooms in the renowned Deko FG, FG Fire and FG2 systems.
By employing innovative solutions to the problems typically experienced on large scale construction schemes, from utilising modular secondary steel within the atrium to facilitating the crane install of large format atrium glass, Indeglås ensured a high standard of workmanship was achieved both efficiently and economically.
The success of the Project rests as much with Indeglås’ appreciation of the importance of subtleties as it does with the immediately impressive and large-scale glass installation.
