The Project
19 – 21 Billiter Street is a grade II listed building built in 1865, and is integrated in to the new high rise development of 40 Leadenhall Street.
We removed all the existing ceilings and fibrous plaster beam casings and column capitals to enable necessary fire protection and the installation of services.
The ceilings were then replaced with traditional chestnut laths and lime plaster, and the beam casings and column capitals replaced in fibrous plaster to duplicate the existing. We also replaced 4 fibrous columns that had been removed in previous alterations and repaired 8 existing columns.
Scope of Works
- Removal of existing ceilings and beam casings.
- Installation of new lath and plaster ceilings
- Installation of new fibrous plaster beam casings
- Installation of new fibrous plaster column capitals
- Installation of new fibrous plaster column capitals
- Restoration of and reinstalling 2 nr ceiling centres
- Repairing existing fibrous plaster columns and arches
