Complex Ceilings

i

The Complex Ceilings competency framework establishes a clear benchmark for the knowledge, skills, experience, and behaviours expected of installers working on complex ceiling systems. It promotes a consistent approach to competence across the sector, helping to ensure installations are carried out safely, to a high standard, and in accordance with recognised industry and manufacturer requirements.

The framework identifies the capabilities required to undertake complex ceiling installation activities, including planning and setting out, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, system installation, coordination with other trades and building services, health and safety, quality assurance, and the achievement of recognised qualifications. It also defines expectations for maintaining competence through continuing professional development and periodic revalidation.

By providing a common standard for competence, the framework supports employers, installers, training providers, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies in improving the quality and consistency of installations, reducing the risk of defects, and promoting compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and project specifications.
