Common Questions About Our Process
Learn more about how our system works and what you need to get started.
Quality
The donor organisation confirms that the product provided is sound and reusable, as per the condition report. Despite best efforts it is still possible that some product is damaged during loading and storage, therefore we suggest that receiver orders sufficient quantity to overcome any issues
Documentation/Warranties
- Where available information from O&M manuals will accompany products. However, this may not always be available.
- Ceiling tiles are provided with the understanding that a new, warranted grid system is installed, therefore the tiles do not require further assurances. The advice is given in good faith, and based on experience, however the recipient must comply with regulations and satisfy themselves that the appropriate checks are undertaken.
- Should you require warranty for the product, there are a couple of options:
- If the manufacture is known, they may be able/willing to provide re-warranty
- For luminaires, a PAT test is recommended
Asbestos
- As the pilot focusses on reuse of products of less than 15 year of age it is not anticipated that asbestos contamination is a risk. As Asbestos was banned in 1999, any buildings post 2000 do not have asbestos.
What happens if a donor isn't found?
The FIS and governance group will work hard to find a recipient site. However if one isn’t found, we will be in contact after the products have been in storage for 3 months to discuss options. Potential outcomes could be that the donor arranges for removal of the products from storage before the 4 months are up or the donor extends the storage at their own expense.
