Neville Grunwald

Neville Grunwald is Director of Facades and Roofs for the Wates Group, Vice Chair of the ICSG, Chair of the Joint Competence Initiative (JCI) and a leading expert in the UK construction industry. He is a driving force behind the push for greater competency and safety standards in the sector, especially for building envelope treatments, in the wake of the Building Safety Act.

He has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, including more than 15 years at the director level.  At Wates, his work involves developing and implementing the company’s envelope and interiors strategy to ensure designs meet stringent quality and regulatory compliance standards.  He is an advocate for competency and has spoken publicly at key industry events about the ongoing challenges and importance of building safety standards in construction.

Through his work in the ICSG and the JCI Neville has become a leading voice for reform, working with stakeholders and key industry bodies, including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Building Safety Regulator, to create appropriate competency standards.
