On no account shall end users download, store, or have the ability to access British Standards licensed under this agreement other than via the secure area of the Licensee website. Subscribers are to abide by the terms and conditions set out in Schedule B of this Licence (see below). Access to the BSI standards must be FIS Contractor Members that fall under the category of small and medium enterprises.  For the purposes of this licence an SME is any organisation that has fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than €50 million (£43 million) or a balance sheet total less than €43 million (£37million).

British Standards are reproduced within this FIS website with the permission of the British Standards Institution (BSI) under licence number 2023JK0004.  Copyright subsists in all BSI publications. Users are reminded that copyright subsists in all British Standards.  Except as permitted under the Copyright, Design and Patents Act 1988, no British Standard either in part or whole, may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted in any form or by any means, without prior written permission of BSI.

In particular, and without limitation, the user is alerted to the fact that British Standards in this service incorporate both visible and invisible watermarks and that the following terms and conditions are applicable in relation to use:

  1. A copy of the Work is licensed to a sole named user who is permitted to access a single electronic copy via the secure area of the FIS website.
  2. Under no circumstances is the licensed Work permitted to be reproduced in part or in whole, either in hard copy or electronically, including by electronic mail, even for internal use within the organisation.
  3. BSI is not aware of any inherent risk of viruses in the PDF files of British Standards at the time that they are downloaded. BSI has exercised due diligence to ensure, so far as practicable, that such files do not contain such viruses.  The PDF files supplied may contain embedded typefaces.
