FIS member Aask us’ new BeadMaster product has been shortlisted as Innovative Product of the Year in both the Building Awards and London Construction Awards.

The rapid rise of Bicester-based building product, BeadMaster™, continues with the product’s selection as a finalist in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ category at the Building Awards 2019.

Launched only last year, BeadMaster products deliver a perfect finish for plasterers around sockets, switches, downlights and sprinklers. As a result, they also lead to a significant saving in labour costs. With less re-work and snagging to worry about at the end of a project, BeadMaster can save construction companies around £400-700 on every house they build and reduce time on site by 2-5 days.

Invented by long-time electrician and plasterer, Pete Carter, and supplied exclusively by FIS member aask us Ltd, BeadMaster puts an end to a number of well-known problems on site. These include plaster inside sockets, the need to cut random holes through freshly-applied plaster in search of missing cables and safety issues caused by stray live wires.

Thrilled at being selected as finalist for Innovation of the Year, Anthony Chadley, Managing Director of aask us Ltd enthused:

This product is a real game-changer. It benefits the whole supply chain; the developer gets a better end finish in quicker time, the plasterer can skim the area without having to worry about wires protruding or ragged edge-cuts and the electrician can safely prepare wires and temporarily seal the aperture.

The category winners will be announced at the Building Awards 2019 ceremony to be held at Park Lane’s Grovesnor House Hotel on 5 November.
