After three years of dedicated collaborative working from FIS members across the supply chain and FIS Approved Training Providers, we celebrated the launch of the brand new Trailblazer Interiors Systems Installer Apprenticeship.
It was wonderfully encouraging to see the support for the new Interiors Systems Installer Apprenticeship Standard, but also to witness the sense of community. The message was clear that this is a chance, not just to launch the standard, but to use the opportunity to reset and focus again on how we can work together to strengthen the training network, improve competency and raise awareness/support recruitment for our critical part of construction industry.
We invite you to view the new standard and end point assessment by clicking on the following link Interiors Systems Installer Apprenticeship Standard
We will circulate clarified information about how the End Point Assessment can be used to attain the CSCS Blue Card and will produce clear guidance for you soon.
Since the launch on 2 October, we have been overwhelmed by the show of support and endorsements, here’s a standout example.
“I sat on the train and read every last word of the new apprenticeship scheme, and was gob smacked, you can tell it’s written by people who live and breathe the dust, not guys in ties. To the extent I passed it over to a friend and he’s taking 14 apprentices on this year now, well done to you all.” Scott Saddler (FATE).
“I don’t think I’d find a better and more credible endorsement for the work that the group did. Speaking as “a guy in a tie” it reminded me that our job is to listen and make sure that the right voices are heard, to champion the core values of FIS and help raise the standards for those that strive to do it better. If we get that buy-in from the LOSC community it will help to embed it and feel like it is theirs, that will be key to the culture change we talk about.”Iain McIlwee, FIS chief executive
